Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas celebrated the opening of its new workforce center
location at 2266 MacArthur Dr, Orange, TX 77630. This addition marked a significant milestone
in the growth of the Orange County community, providing expanded opportunities for both job
seekers and employers. The 12,000 square feet location plays a vital role in fostering job
growth and economic development in the region.
Executive Director of Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas, Mary Hammon expressed excitement
about the center's potential impact, noting that it would enhance support for job seekers
in Orange County.

Southeast Texas Works! Podcast Update
Throughout the Southeast Texas Works! Podcast series, we have focused our
interactions with guests from various backgrounds and diverse industries
to provide listeners with broad ideas and focused opinions regarding workforce
development. In March, we released a unique interview with Sgt. Jeremy Kempt,
a dedicated Career Counselor for the Texas National Guard. Sgt. Kempt and
the Texas National Guard participate in many outreach events in Southeast
Texas. He shares similar partnerships with local school districts as
they prepare students for graduation from high school and the entry into
higher education or the workforce. Kempt explains how his decision to
join the Guard involved family input and provided the opportunity to
select from an array of career paths. He also shares advice for individuals
considering joining the Guard.

Workforce Connects: "Bridging Skills for Success: Workforce Solutions
Southeast Texas and Digital Workforce Academy Empowers Construction Careers"
Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas has teamed up with Digital Workforce Academy (DWA) to offer
National Center for Construction Educational Research (NCCER) pipefitter helper pre-apprenticeships
to 15 local customers, addressing the skills gap in the construction industry. DWA,
established in 1999 and based in Southeast Texas since 2007, provides a comprehensive
training program preparing individuals for success in construction trades. Funding from
Local First, supported by Golden Triangle Polymers, aids this initiative. DWA's partnerships
with local contractors enhance workforce capacity, supporting entry-level positions and
registered apprenticeships. This collaboration strengthens our community and together we
can build a world class - competitive workforce for Southeast Texas. For more information
