Our Podcast episodes continue to grow as we engage with business leaders, education and training professionals, and elected officials throughout Southeast Texas. Each Southeast Texas Works! podcast is designed to share pertinent information with the audience about initiatives, programs, and offerings which enhance workforce development and local communities.

In September, we released two informative Podcast episodes:

LiftFund - Helping Diverse Entrepreneurs, Closing the Small Business Finance Gap: Ana Pereda and Francisco Gonzalez of LiftFund talk about funding options for entrepreneurs who wish to start their own business. Pereda, a former Southeast Texas Workforce board member, is currently a Business Advisor for LiftFund. Gonzalez, who works in San Antonio, Texas, is a Lending Officer with over 15 years' experience in helping small businesses become 'bankable'.

Lamar State College Port Arthur - Helping Students Develop Job-Ready Skills: Dr. Melissa Armentor, Dean, Technical Programs, and Dr. Ben Stafford, vice president, Workforce and Continuing Education, from Lamar State College Port Arthur (LSCPA) talk about the college's new craft skills training facility, CDL training facility, and the Excelencia Center, focusing on support for Hispanic and 'first generation' students. Stafford explains how LSCPA is slated to become the largest truck driving certification site in Texas.
