Executive Director's Hurricane Harvey Message

The effects of Hurricane Harvey on Southeast Texas has surpassed any natural disaster we have experienced in our modern history. Even well thought-out 'best practices' from Hurricanes Ike and Rita fell by the wayside as our communities and infrastructure in Hardin, Jefferson and Orange counties were overwhelmed and even crippled by the storm and flooding. However, we are resilient, and we hold fast to, our strength, faith and love for each other as we move on to repair, renovate, and rebuild.

Our goal is to continually provide support and resources to our communities as well as workforce and employment services through the Workforce Centers. The workforce board has received funding through the National Dislocated Worker Disaster grant to provide assistance to individuals in the form of temporary employment opportunities associated with the clean-up, recovery and humanitarian efforts in our area.
