Employer Awards
On Nov. 8, 2023, Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas honored six Southeast Texas employers with awards. Employers that were chosen for these awards have showcased great community efforts and offered unwavering support with many supporting our area's public and higher education system.

Valero Energy Corporation was honored as Large Employer of the Year. Valero's Port Arthur location, one of the main petrochemical refineries in Southeast Texas, has over 500 employees, which is one requirement for the Large Employer of the Year award. The corporation provides training and has growth opportunities to advance in the company.

M & D Supply was recognized as Small Employer of the year for hosting one of our paid work experience students and for having over 20 employees. Chevron Phillips Chemical was honored as Local Employer of Excellence for their work and partnerships on Local First an initiative for hiring local skilled workers for Golden Triangle Polymers project. Stable Spirit, a non-profit organization, was recognized as HireAbility Employer of the Year. Tot Town II was awarded as Child Care Provider of the Year for their services and partnership with Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas as the child care program which provides child care to over 1,500 children whose parents are needing childcare aid for work, training, or education. Troop Industrial was recognized and honored as our Veteran-Friendly Employer of the year.
