Employer Training Program Produces Successful, Certified Workers

On November 5th, S&B Engineers and Constructors celebrated the successful conclusion of the first Pipeline training in Southeast Texas with the graduates, their families and friends. Mike Stilley, VP of Education and Workfare Development, opened the event by congratulating the graduating students for their dedication and drive to improve their skills and compete for high demand/high wage jobs in the area. As important as completing the training program, Stilley noted that "success breeds success", the graduates, set a standard for their children to strive for success in school, in their future careers, and in life.

Industry Environmental Expert Appointed to Board
James P. Hawkins has been appointed to the Southeast Texas Workforce Development board effective October 2, 2019. Hawkins is employed by South Hampton Resources Inc., in Silsbee with responsibility for compliance and oversight of environmental programs for the facility.

Southeast Initiates Special Project to Increase Local Talent Pool
With the approval of the workforce development board, Southeast Texas has launched the Next Step Program to focus on assisting Foster Youth to successfully enter the workforce. Foster Youth are designated as a target population and receive priority services through the workforce centers.
