The Board is proud to honor International Paper as the 2020 Southeast
Texas Outstanding Local Employer of Excellence. International Paper
is a local-based, private-sector employer whose efforts and initiatives
have created long-lasting positive effects for students, employees, and
the entire community of Orange, Texas.
The International Paper Orange Containerboard Mill has been an industry
fixture in the community for the past half-century and produces fiber-based
packaging, pulp and a variety of other consumer-based paper products for
customers around the globe. Understanding the need of a strong dependable
workforce, International Paper has partnered with Workforce Solutions,
to hire skilled jobseekers who can contribute to International Paper's success.
At the Orange mill location, International Paper provides more than 500 in-demand jobs.
The efforts by International Paper to help drive and develop a diverse and skilled
workforce mirrors the Workforce board efforts to provide community residents with
the latest in-demand training for high-wage local positions through community
college and training-provider collaborations. The company is highlighted in the
Board's annual report
