Area Employment Shows Positive Job Gains
For the month of April, Southeast Texas gained 600 jobs through a 0.2% decrease in unemployment. Across the state, unemployment showed a similar drop of 0.1%. Job sectors that continue to show positive growth are Professional and Business Services and Leisure and Hospitality, with increases of 200 jobs each. Construction, Education and Health Services also show gains of 100 jobs each.
