Awards of Excellence
Each year, our workforce board members and staff host the awards ceremony to show our appreciation for successfully meeting personal goals, implementing innovative human resource strategies, and supporting initiative though ongoing partnership with workforce development. On March 3, 2020, Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas celebrated individuals, employers, sponsors and partners at the 5th Annual Awards of Excellence luncheon at the Beaumont Event Centre. Here is a recap of the awards and recipients:

2019 Workforce Ambassadors: Alexis Harris, Eric Bass, Jonah Fitzgerald, and Awna Jackson.

The new "Building SETX Talent" award recognized the following businesses for innovative collaboration with Workforce Solutions and for implementation of an employment and training consortium:

2019 Special Initiative Partners and Volunteers category included Entergy Texas, Region 5 Education Service Center, Southeast Texas Human Resources Association (SETHRA), Junior Achievement of the Golden Triangle (JA), and Texas Workforce Solutions Vocational Rehabilitation Services. The Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas Centers received recognition for receiving a $30,000 monetary incentive for serving a significant number of foster youth.

Dr. Al Barringer, retiring board member and Executive Vice President Lamar State College orange, was presented with a certificate of appreciation for his service on the workforce board.
