Providing Temporary Workers for Disaster Recovery after Harvey

Workforce Solutions continues to help with disaster recovery in Southeast Texas through providing temporary work opportunities, including paid worksites, for qualified individuals. Paid worksite employers include non-profit and public governmental employers that are continuing to provide food, clothing, shelter or other humanitarian services. Also, activities related to repair, cleaning and renovation through these employers are also allowable.

Marilyn Smith, executive director states, “We continue to reach out to individuals in our area who are unemployed or under-employed and may require additional assistance getting back to work. We want to help our communities in the Harvey recovery efforts and continue to improve the local economy.” Workforce outreached hundreds of individuals through a recent mail post-card campaign and through the board’s website,
