Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas is planning our first annual Youth Career Expo at Ford Park, scheduled for October 15, 2015. This event is targeted to high school Career and Technology Education (CTE) students in Hardin, Jefferson and Orange counties.

Companies from local industries are being 'recruited' by Workforce to participate as Exhibitors for this youth event. We request that Exhibitors provide creative interactive presentations and informative demonstrations to engage the "workforce of the future". Businesses, educational institutions, and training entities from all industries including Engineering, Healthcare, Transportation/Logistics, Business Office/Clerical Support, Retail, Hospitality/Food Service, Security, Financial Services, Skilled Crafts/Building Trades, Manufacturing/Refining, Telecommunications, Public service, Automotive, and Cosmetology, just to name a few, are invited to participate.

Quota International is a non-profit organization that hosts various fund-raining activities to support military personnel, help disadvantaged children and women, and provide scholarship to local student.

For January 2015, the UI rate for Southeast Texas MSA was reported as 7.1 percent. Southeast experienced a slight decline in the trade, transportation and utilities, retail, leisure/hospitality, professional business services and government industries.
