Over $790,000 in Career Training Grants Awarded to Southeast Texas Schools |
Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas is pleased to announce that four local schools have been awarded a total of $794,546
in Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) grants through the Texas Workforce Commission. These grants will support career
and technical education (CTE) programs aimed at preparing students for high-demand, well-paying careers in our region.
The funding will enable these schools to purchase and install critical equipment necessary for training more than 260
students in key fields such as welding, nursing, and other technical occupations that are vital to the Southeast
Texas workforce. By enhancing hands-on learning opportunities, these grants help ensure that students graduate with the
skills and knowledge that local employers require.
This investment is a significant step toward strengthening workforce development and expanding career readiness in Southeast
Texas. Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas is proud to support initiatives that connect education and industry, providing
students with pathways to meaningful employment and helping meet the evolving needs of our regional economy.
We look forward to the positive impact these grants will have on both students and employers as we continue to build a
skilled workforce that drives economic growth across our communities.
