Celebrating the Success of the 2024 Teacher Externship Program
The 2024 Teacher Externship Program hosted 70 dedicated teachers from 13 school districts across Jefferson, Orange, and Hardin counties teamed up with 16 host sites to gain real-world industry experience.
Throughout the program, educators worked alongside professionals in diverse sectors such as petrochemical, healthcare, manufacturing, and maritime.
They engaged in hands-on activities, observed industry practices, and created a lesson plan that would introduce students to high-demand jobs. This hands-on experience will
significantly enhance their ability to prepare students for successful careers. Many teachers and employers stated they are excited for the 2025 Teacher Externship.
