May Labor Market Figures
Unemployment figures released today show mixed improvement for Southeast Texas. While some areas are seeing a slight increase in unemployment numbers, others are holding their own or showing a gradual improvement in the number of employed job seekers over figures from one year ago.

“We expect the slight downward turn in the construction industry to improve over the next few months due to upcoming projects slated for our area. We remain encouraged as we continue to see an increase in the number of employer job postings in Southeast Texas,” said Marilyn Smith, executive director of Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas.
