Summer Earn and Learn (SEAL) is a statewide initiative led by Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas in collaboration with the
Texas Workforce Commission and local employers. The program provides students with disabilities the opportunity to gain paid work
experience, career readiness training, and practical skills in real-world job settings. SEAL is designed to build confidence, develop
workplace skills, and prepare students for long-term success in the workforce.

In 2025, in the Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas workforce development area, we had a total of 25 students to participate in the program.
The program ran from June 16 through July 25, offering seven weeks of valuable work-based learning. Participants were placed across a range of
               industries in Southeast Texas.

Many students received positive feedback from their employers, and several were offered continued employment beyond the end of the program. SEAL
participants were taught employability skills such as communication, punctuality, and teamwork. These essential workplace traits helped students
grow not only as employees but also as individuals ready to take on future challenges. Several employers have already expressed interest
in participating next year, citing the value SEAL brings to their workplace and the impact it has on student success.

SEAL continues to be a vital resource for youth with disabilities, equipping them with the tools they need to thrive in the workforce while
strengthening partnerships with local businesses and organizations across Southeast Texas.
