Employer Survey Results
Feedback from the local businesses that replied to the Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas COVID-19 Survey indicated owners and operators taking immediate actions to protect their employees and customers. 100% of the -40- respondents answered adding additional sanitizing procedures. Other changes in normal business procedures due to COVID-19 included:

  • Rotating office shifts
  • Social distancing markups on floors
  • PPE, Masks, Gloves
  • Checking employee's temperatures
  • Work from Home
  • Partitions, Plexiglas

Eighty-six (86) percent of respondents indicated some of their employees were laid off or furloughed due to the stay at home orders. The Stay at Home mandate, in turn, directly impacted business revenues. Survey respondents indicated revenue losses from five (5) percent to as much as ninety-five (95) prevent. Forty-five (45) percent of the respondents participated in the Payroll Protection Program, a loan designed to provide a monetary incentive for small businesses to keep their workers on the payroll and help mitigate layoffs.
