OJT Helps Local Employer Meet Increase in Service Demand

During the past few months, Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas experienced a dramatic increase in demand for patient care services in their Behavioral Center. As the only facility between Houston and New Orleans offering inpatient and outpatient psychiatric and chemical dependency program, the hospital administrators were faced with the need to hire more skilled workers for the Unit. Baptist Hospital Beaumont partnered with Workforce Solutions to strategize and implement a comprehensive On the Job Training (OJT) program designed to hire individuals with basic skills and train these individuals as Psychiatric Technicians. Hiring additional staff and ensuring they were properly trained and certified, was critical to Baptist Hospitals' goal for providing high quality health services for the community.
