Two days a week, Hardin County job seekers will find the Workforce Center on Wheels at a new location to better meet their needs.  On Mondays and Wednesdays, the mobile unit will now be stationed at the Frank Robinson Building (LIT) at 1355 MLK in Silsbee.  It will still be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Hardin County Courthouse at 300 Monroe Street in Kountze.

More than 3,000 residents have utilized the mobile lab in Hardin County which is integral to the delivery of workforce services to local residents. The mobile lab, available to job seekers and employers, has 10 workstations and satellite Internet capability.  It is fully ADA compliant and has its own power generator for heating and cooling.  The unit is part of the Board’s strategy to be able to deliver quality service without depending on traditional “brick and mortar.”

“Moving our Workforce Center on Wheels mobile unit to the new location promotes workforce development’s relationship with Lamar Institute of Technology,” states Mary Hammon, Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas deputy/finance director. “We appreciate LIT’s partnership in this endeavor and their willingness to help make the unit available to the residents of Hardin County.”
