December Labor Market Figures
New unemployment figures released last Friday by the Texas Workforce Commission showed that 2012 wrapped with an overall annual decrease in the unemployment rate for the state and almost all of Southeast Texas.

“Though the needle is not moving as fast as we would like for getting more people back to work, we are pleased that steadily improving economic conditions are gradually getting more people back to work,” said Marilyn Smith, executive director Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas, “We expect those numbers will continue to improve in 2013 and we will continue to work with employers and job seekers to meet the hiring needs of our local economy.”
