Southeast Texas Workforce Excellence: A Month of Recognition and Opportunity
|
The Orange County Economic Development Corporation issued a proclamation,
"Salute to Southeast Texas Workforce Month", in recognition of workforce
collaboration and partnership expansion. The one-month initiative, from February
1st to March 7th, will showcase initiatives that focus on local workforce
opportunities, career pathways, and promote self-sufficiency through employment
opportunities.
Workforce development is composed of essential components including educational
partners, employers, and training providers, all collaborating to cultivate a
talent pipeline in workforce development. Recognized in the proclamation of
Workforce Month, Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas hosted its 10th annual
Youth Career Expo, a significant event that reached over 3,000 local high
school students from 39 schools. The Youth Expo featured 142 exhibitors from
diverse industry sectors such as education, business, construction, manufacturing,
law enforcement, healthcare, and STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering,
and Mathematics).
In alignment with employment opportunities, Golden Triangle Polymers Group in
partnership with Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas, will host a Local First
Job Fair on March 7th, prioritizing the recruitment of local skilled workers.
The Texas Golden Triangle Chapter's Federation for Advanced Manufacturing
Education (FAME) whose purpose aligns with workforce development to grow a
talented pipeline of skilled workers was also acknowledged in the proclamation.
With substantial investments totaling $73 billion for projects in Southeast
Texas, including an additional $12.5 billion dedicated to Orange County, our
focus remains steadfast on economic development and the expansion of our workforce.
