Southeast Receives Monetary Award at Conference
Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas received a $30,000 Board Performance Incentive award at the 23rd Annual Texas Workforce Conference, December 4, 2019. The incentive award was presented by the Bryan Daniel, Chairman and Commissioner Representing the Public. The Award recognizes a board for serving a significant number of foster youth as compared to the total number of youth being served. Southeast Texas was recognized as #1 in the quartile of similarly sized boards.

"Our focus is to ensure our efforts will assist individuals such as foster youth, who desire to become self-sufficient and compete for the high demand/high wage opportunities in the area. We also want to increase the skills level and availability of the local workforce to meet Southeast Texas' manpower needs", stated Marilyn Smith, executive director.

The monetary award will be utilized to further enhance workforce services in Southeast Texas.
