The Texas Education Agency in partnership with the Texas Workforce Investment Council (TWIC) has released an initiative to validate industry-based certification (IBC). The validation process will measure the value of a credential in entering the workforce or advancing from high school to higher education institutions. As more occupations require one or two year certifications versus a four-year college degree, Texas wants to ensure credentials earned in high school will prepare students to effectively take advantage of the many jobs being created by employers throughout various industries.

On November 8, 2018, Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas will host the 7th Annual "Hiring Red, White & You!" Veterans Job Fair at the Beaumont Workforce Solutions Center, 9:00 am - 12:00 noon. This special hiring event is held by all workforce development areas in Texas and provides the opportunity for employers, who value the military service and experience possessed by servicemen and servicewomen, to meet local Veterans actively looking for work.
Employers in Jefferson, Orange, and Hardin counties have continually supported this event.
