Workforce Connects: Hands-On with Healthcare: Macy's CPR Adventure with Acadian Ambulance
In this month's Make Macy Do It segment, Macy stepped into the world of emergency medical services with the team at
Acadian Ambulance and it was anything but your typical day on the job!
Her first challenge was performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on a model patient. With guidance from certified
professionals, Macy learned the proper technique for chest compression, an essential skill that can save lives in critical moments.
The training didn't stop there. She also got hands-on experience in infection control by practicing how to properly remove and
dispose of gloves, a small but vital step in keeping both patients and first responders safe.
Macy helped load a mock patient onto a stretcher, to secure and transport the patient just like they would in a real emergency.
