Southeast Texas Works! Podcast Update
The Southeast Texas Works! Podcast series is designed to be a unique and interesting outreach tool to engage our community. Our goal is utilizing the podcast format to share information and views of business leaders, elected officials, professional educators, workforce board members, and others, on local issues, including the area's economic growth and the need for strategic workforce development.

Our first podcast release in April featured Dr. Johanna Boult and Chelsea Lyles, with Lamar University's Speech and Hearing Sciences. Boult, department chair, encourages parents and students to learn about various occupations and available training in speech language pathology. Additionally, she describes the degree offerings including a new certificate program. Lyles talks about her educational background, mentoring other Masters' students, and her personal experience with clinical services that are available to the entire community.

Later in April, we released a podcast featuring Dana Espinal, the director of the Lamar State College Port Arthur Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Espinal shared valuable insights and advice for entrepreneurs and experienced small business owners in Southeast Texas. She encourages individuals interested in starting or expanding their business to take advantage of the many, no-cost services and mentoring available to help strengthen a company's economic well-being.
