Texas Workforce Commissioner Addresses Small Businesses

On April 10, 2014, Commissioner Hope Andrade, Texas Workforce Commissioner Representing Employers, addressed the audience at the Business Development Week general session. Andrade, appointed by Governor Rick Perry in March 2013, spoke of her role as the champion and advocate for more than 400,000 Texas employers and how she works to ensure that employers’ interests are considered in all Commission actions. As a former small business owner, Andrade mentioned she wished she had known all the resources and assistance available to business owners, most at no cost, through Workforce Solutions. She encouraged employers to take advantage of the business solutions and tax incentives.

Texas HB5 Changes High School Graduation Requirements
