Three Things You Need to Know
1. Celebrating Apprenticeship Programs for Texas

The value of apprenticeship programs for increasing worker’s skills was highlighted by Governor Greg Abbott’s declaration of Apprentice Week in Texas, November 12-18, 2017. The declaration coincided with the national awareness initiative to help prepare the workforce for new occupations and technologies through utilizing Registered Apprenticeship Training. 2. Your “Texas-Style” Human Resource Guide

Especially for Texas Employers is the in-line policy guide designed to assist employers with a myriad of human resource and employment issues. Although the guide does not give legal advice, it can steer employers though complex issues such as policy handbooks, I-9 requirements, wage claims, required posters, and work separation issues. The Guide is available for download at this link.

3. Workforce Solutions Holiday Schedule

The Board’s administrative office and Workforce Centers will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 23-24, 2017, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Our office and workforce centers will reopen Monday, November 27, 2017, at regular business hours. Happy Thanksgiving from Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas!
