1. Employers – POSTERS for the Workplace are FREE
At the start of each new year, there is an increase in notifications to employers, by mail and on-line, regarding workplace posters. Many times, these notifications include solicitations that require employers to PAY for the posters to be in compliance with state and federal laws. In Texas, required workplace posters and other posters for public employers, are available at NO COST. Click this link, to get access to all required workplace posters including Workers Compensation, Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), and Child Labor. The site also contains detailed information regarding workplace laws.
2. Assistance to employers for Layoff and Reductions in Force (RIF)
Local workforce development boards, such as Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas, offer assistance to businesses facing layoffs or closures. Rapid Response provides early intervention, information and services to help employers provide job and career transition assistance to workers who may lose their jobs due to no fault of their own. These services are customized and may be requested by any Texas employer. The workforce board has staff available to provide on-site, informational sessions regarding unemployment insurance benefits, work search requirements, training, employment and career transition, and much more. 3. Texas Wages and Employment Projections
Employers can take advantage of this on-line resource to help determine how much to pay in wages for the various jobs at their business. This informational site was developed by the Labor Market and Career Information division and provides detailed wage amounts for entry level, experienced, mean and median wages. Click this link, for wage information in addition to employment projections (job growth estimates) by workforce or metropolitan areas in the state.
