"Are You the Unemployment Office?"

As Workforce Solutions staff, we are often asked "You are the unemployment office, right?" We usually smile as several responses go through our minds. One favorite response is "No-we are the EMPLOYMENT Office!" And, sometimes we think, "We've got to get a bigger sign out front." Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas is an integral part of the unemployment insurance and benefits team in Texas. While we are not the direct administrator of unemployment benefits, we own an important role in helping those workers who are laid off due to no fault of their own get back to work as quickly as possible. Additionally, we are the resource for services and assistance to residents in Jefferson, Orange and Hardin counties to overcome barriers to employment, look for a better job and explore training opportunities.
