"Be Your Own Super Hero!" Community Event Planned for Southeast Texas

Sharing Solutions announces a community event, "Be Your Own Super Hero!" The event will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) Multi-purpose Center, 802 E. Lavaca Street in Beaumont, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. The event is free to the public.

As many as 30 agencies, including Beaumont Housing Authority, Catholic Charities of Southeast Texas, Inspire Encourage Achieve (IEA), Jefferson County Bar Association, and the Texas Veterans Commission, are scheduled to have information booths and representatives to meet with the public during "Be Your Own Super Hero!"


Southeast Texas Workforce Centers to Implement Dress Code

Executive Director Marilyn Smith is leading an initiative to assist job seekers to be work ready, improve their hire-ability and meet employer's expectations of a prepared workforce. Effective June 1, 2017, all job seekers and persons utilizing workforce services will be required to follow an established dress code. "It's time to raise the level of our job seekers expectations and professionalism", stated Smith, during a recent meeting of workforce center partners. "Our businesses want to hire employees with hard skills and the understanding of the importance of wearing appropriate work clothing and business attire."
