Employers Continue to HIRE in Southeast Texas

Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas WORKFORCE CENTERS hosted several customized hiring events for employers in March. These unique events were designed to meet each company’s hiring needs. Job seekers were outreached by workforce center staff and invited to attend based on specific skills, education, and experience the individual included in their electronic, on-line work history in WorkInTexas.com.

Southeast Texas and Local EDC Secure High Demand Job Training Grant

Shortly after the Texas Workforce Commission announced the availability of incentive funds to help support economic development and workforce collaborations, Southeast Texas immediately began work with local Economic Development Councils to find job training opportunity. In their efforts to strengthen the job outlook for local individuals by upgrading job seeker skills, the Port Arthur EDC and Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas collaborated with a local employer to employ and train local job seekers in skills necessary to meet the employer's needs.
